The Season Begins.

The 2024 Tournament season is off and running! Boy does it feel good to be on the water again.

The first BASS Nation Tournament of the year on Lake Martin had strong participation by our members, including 18th, 19th, and 20th place Co-Angler finishes by Will McRee, Alex Roberts, and Jacob G-Money George respectively. Nice job boys. 

Other members have been tearing it up in BFL's, ABT's, and other tournaments across the state. Keep representing the club well and hammer down out there!

Now for the good stuff...
We hosted our first tournament of the year on a cloudy, misty Sunday morning on Guntersville Lake. The lake has been fishing about as good as it has in the past 10 years, and I think everyone was ready to sling some over the gunnel on something that rattles, shakes, or vibrates. Despite favorable weather all week, the fishing was much tougher than expected for most of the field. Despite this, Lee Byrd managed to capture a solid 19# bag doing what he loves, winning the boater side by a wide margin. LJ Brown came in second, and Josh Gunnin third. Matthew Hebert had the big fish, a beautiful 5.60 Largehead he caught swimming a jig. Only 2 Co-Anglers brought fish to the scales, with Alex Roberts capturing the top prize by .2 of a pound over Lee Fowler, who had 2.30#. Rumors say he caught the winning fish (singular) on a chatterbait. Full results will be available on the 2024 Results page. Overall, while the fishing was tough, the company was excellent and we had great participation to start the year. Let's keep that rolling!
