The BBC Livewell - the better late than never edition 3/19

3/19/2017

REMINDER: Our next meeting is this Thursday, 3/23. It will feature the draw for the Lay tourney and a visit from a Humminbird Electronics Representative.

There has been a whole lot of activity over the past month and tons of things upcoming, let’s see if we can do it all justice.
Some great additions to the club, fun first tourney at the Warrior, gator hunting on Eufaula with the AL Nation, BBC best plans for the big dragon, and plans for this week’s meeting (the 23rd)… here we go:

Please welcome our newest additions to the Bham Bass Club;  Joey Aderhold, David Cothran, Lee Fowler, Jacob George,  Hunter Hosey, Jake Maddux, Nicholas Maluff, Jonathan Trowbrige, and Justin White!

A huge shout out to Will McRee for organizing and managing all the new members. Brother, we are grateful!

On February 18th we hit the Warrior River for the first BBC tournament of the year. The weather turned out much better than originally expected and the fish were caught on just about everything… swim jigs, A-rigs, Crankbaits, Floating worms, Senkos, Buzzbaits and even a few on a spook.

Ben Counts continues to show why he’s the ultimate warrior, netting another “W” on Bankhead. Dude flat out rocks this pond, especially with a jig in his hand. Local stick and state team member, Kyle Kimbrell finished second .If Mr. Brian Ingersoll didn’t spend half his time working on his trolling (plus a trip to Hoover), he might have made this is tight contest.

White-out conditions dominated the co-angler side. Brothers Steven and Justin White claimed first place and second place respectively. It looks like little brother has bragging rights until the next tourney.  I found a few buzzbait fish and managed to barely scrape into the top three.

During the first AL Nation tournament of the year we had great representation for the BBC. Folks caught a lot of fish but it was challenging finding the right one. Occasionally, while strolling down the bank a big gator would scare the shit out of you. No joke, there are some big ones in there.

Ben Counts continued his great start to the season and whack the crap out of those southern Alabama bass. He finished with a great bag of green fish at 11th place, 17.25lbs. Scott, Bruce, Lee, Joey and Kyle also finished in the top 30 of the boaters! Resitfo was up to his old tricks, he crushed a huge 3-fish limit landing him in 4th place, 11.31lbs. Jacob and Steven also finished in he the top 30!

Good luck to the BBC representatives who are on the AL Nation State Team. They hit up the “big dragon,” also known as Lake of the Ozarks, during the first week of April. Time to kick some ass boyz - Kyle Kimbrell, Scott Holmes, Michael Restifo, and Lee Byrd.

The upcoming meeting, this Thursday, is going to feature a special guest from Humminbird. Also, we will be drawing for the Lay Tournament, which will occur on the 25th!

Meeting starts at 6:30, hope to see you early for some food, beverage, and conversation.
