1/24/2024

Comments

Happy new year, folks. Please take a minute to review a quick summary of last night's meeting.

Foremost, a big thank you to Joey Aderhold for making your self available and stepping up to fill in the gap last year. Joey has answered the call again this year, and will serve as club vice president, and tournament director. The Schedule has been posted, so mark your calendars and make your plans now.

Also, a big thank you to Bruce Sargent for hosting us at his place last night. If you have not had the privilege to visit the farm yet, I recommend you do so. It's a special place to my old hometown, and what Bruce has done out there to bring it back to life is truly amazing. Happy Birthday man, and thank you.

Alongside Joey will be Josh Dees president, Bruce will run the financials again as the treasury, Nick Layfield will serve the club as secretary, Alex Roberts on media, and Thad Spates serving as membership director. With the council set, and the schedule posted, we are off to an amazing start.

Overview:
  • 14 in attendance
  • Onboarding new member process change - voted and passed
  • Classic qualifications this year - 5 derbs to qualify for classic, can fish 4 and buy in, 1 drop.
  • Big bag of the year pot. If minimum lb's not met, pot will roll over until angler weighs in the minimum value set - tabled for a future vote
  • Discussed lowering age limit for family members to join and fish - tabled for a future vote
  • Discussed allowing team fishing - tabled for a future vote
  • For now we will plan to meet in person quarterly with the possibility to meet more either in person, or virtually.

ABN - 23 days and a wake-up until we kick off Lake Martin for the first ABN Qualifier of the year. Look forward to seeing you there. As a reminder, our first 2 derbs are on a Sunday, so please make sure you plan accordingly. Guys, check your rigs, running lights, air horns, tire pressure. pfd's on board, paperwork etc. Now is the time to ensure you're legal and safe. See you boys at the ramp!
